Discover natural wonders
Immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring world of giant crystals. Sparkling gems and giant crystals, some weighing over 3,000 kg, have been gathered from all over the world for you to admire in our museum.
We even encourage you to touch some of the crystals. Get to know these incredible natural wonders, see for yourself the range of shapes and colours and experience the radiance of these brightly coloured minerals. The museum features what is probably the world’s largest and most beautiful amethyst vein but you can also see many small, rare gems from around the world.
Explore the past
Go on a journey through the Earth’s history from 480 million years ago, the time of our fossils, to today.
Discover dinosaur skeletons, giant fish fossils, ancient crabs and sea lilies, along with many other stunning and exciting fossil specimens.
Experience history
Take a stroll through our 220-million-year-old petrified forest, made using the original trunks from the famous Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. It is an incredible way to experience the history of our planet.
These giant trunks are up to 8 m long and weigh up to 3.5 tonnes, complete with fossilised cones and tree resin with insects trapped inside, providing a window into the flora and fauna of the past.
